The Hemp Barn

The hemp barn surprised me. I bought two of their strains and one of them has turned into one of my favorite strains I’ve bought so far while the other went on the do not buy again list. Only because of the strongness of it’s smell and taste. It is a fruity taste that I’m not loving, it smells and tastes like cherries.

I had been hearing about the quality of the flower at THB and I decided to give them a try. This is my review of The Hemp Barn both of the quality of the vendor and the quality of the products received.

My First The Hemp Barn Order – One Home Run, One Miss

As you will probably see if you visit THB, they are likely sold out of flower.

That’s the way it was for me the majority of time I visited the site to check on inventory. Most of the time, everything was gone or it was sold down to the 3.5g. Ideally I can get a little more to get a full review so I like to get at least 7g and if I’m fairly certain I am going to like it, I get 14g at a pop.

Well THB finally had two strains of their indoor organic soil flower, which is their second tier line of flower. Beggars can’t be choosers so I ordered what they had. It remined me of my old black market plug days when he told me what he had and I said yes.

I ordered Larry OG and Cherry Cookies.

Larry OG reminds me of old school ganja and became one of my favorites. Cherry cookies though has great effects but the taste is too much like cherries for my liking.

The Hemp Barn’s Reputation

THB has an extremely positive rep in the communities. Both from the ‘insiders’ point of view as a top choice for very high quality flower and products to the more general population who hear them mentioned in ‘who has the best flower threads’ and discussions that happen every few months.

THB’s Flower

Small quantities of craft cannabis flower are what is available at THB whenever stock is not sold out. They sell in 3.5g, 7g, 7g smalls, 14g and 14g smalls. I have not seen larger quantities available.

The flower is either grown in indoor living soil or indoor organic soil.

The living soil their top tier line of flower grown with 100% living soil and no fertilizers or pesticides. Hand trimmed and slow cured. It’s also their more expensive. 7g is around $70 at time of this review.

Easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. They also have an account creation area where your past orders are saved for reference if needed.

Customer Service

I like that THB has their phone number prominently listed on their website at the top, as well as a local pickup option with their address.

If you have questions or issues with your order, THB is there from 10am-5pm EST to help you get sorted. In general, THB has positive feedback from users in the communities when it comes to customer service and support.

Order Processing

Orders are processed quickly. My orders so far have been processed and shipped out on the same day that I placed them. Being a relatively smaller batch, craft cannabis company, they seem to thrive on fast order delivery and processing. They advertise same day shipping if orders placed prior to 2pm EST

Shipping

There is a small shipping charge. It was a couple dollars to send via USPS. Route insurance is also offered and it was only a dollar and some change on my first order which was just under a $100 order in total.

Packaging

The products arrived in cardboard boxes that were plain and not listing ‘The Hemp Barn’ in the senders address. Instead it was a generic looking company name in a generic looking cardboard box.

Inside the box were plastic jars that were inside of a vacuum sealed, smell proof bag. Each individual order was sent in plastic jar with screw top lids. Everything was smell proof and well sealed up. No concerns of the contents letting themselves be known via poor packaging or smell escaping.

Rewards Program

There is a rewards program that is essentially a 5% cash back program that you can use on future orders. Simple and easy, but no amazing rewards programs like the old one at Arete. It’s better than nothing but it is overall nothing too much to write home about or be the reason you end up shopping here.

Email / Marketing from The Hemp Barn

One thing that I really do not like from some of these vendors is the constant barrage of ‘fire drops’ or restocks of some strain. THB has been respectful of my email inbox, which is nice.

There are the standard ‘review your purchase’ emails that are automatically sent out some time after your order as well as order status updates which are sent during the processing and shipping portion. I’ve received a tiny amount of marketing emails, one mentioning a sale and one mentioning a restock of their live resin carts, which seem to be extremely popular.

Is The Hemp Barn Legit? (yes)

Yes, they have proven themselves over time to be a steady supplier of small batch, high quality craft cannabis. I believe you will get what you order in a timely fashion and will likely be very satisfied. They are well known for the quality of their flower and their vapes.
