Larry OG

Larry OG is a hybrid strain from The Hemp Barn, an Pennsylvania based company that had received consistent praise for the quality of their flower I decided to give them a try and bought 7g of Larry OG, a hybrid strain that caught my eye. This is my review of Larry OG from The Hemp Barn.

Many of the posters had consistently recommended The Hemp Barn when considering where to buy quality flower. I read the description of Larry OG and I also wanted to try out THB and see if the flower lived up to the hype.

I ordered 7g of Larry OG for $49.99, which is a bit on the higher side for top shelf thca cannabis prices. I also snagged 7g of their Cherry Cookies in a smalls format for $39 if you want to check out my thoughts on that one.

Flower

This bud reminds me of a classic red hair bud from back in the day. I always knew I had a good bag of weed back in the old days (I’ll be 50 next year) when it looked like Larry OG does. Green base with reddish hairs.

The buds are nice and large and look hand trimmed.

Smell

Piney. Nice. Not overpowering or super strong. A little pine and sharp gassy hit. Maybe a tiny touch of skunky citrus.

Taste

A little pine flavor on the exhale. The first green hit out of the mini water pipe was a classic weed taste to me with a bit of a pine lean. It tastes really good. I like that it is not fruity or cherry flavored at all. It is considerably different than the Cherry Cookies I ordered as well.

Toke

It smoked good in a bowl. I had a little cough if I hit it too big. Smooth exhale and it was no excessive coughing or sneezing.

Effect

Had a good high that was more heady and up than a body stone. This is going for my daytime rotation. I don’t think I would like this one if I were getting ready to chill out and watch a movie or go to bed and wanted that couch lock, this one feels more sativa hybrid.

Final Thoughts

At $50 a quarter, this is on the medium higher side of what I’m seeing for top shelf THCa.

It is good and it compares nicely with most of the other vendors I’ve tried. I will certainly happily smoke it all but I am not lining up waiting for the next drop of this strain.

It is good enough though that it makes me want to try more and more strains from The Hemp Barn. I feel like the quality is good there. I will continue to try other strains and some of their flower that is in living soil as opposed to just organic soil.

Fun Fact – I put nuggets from 3 different strains on a plate and let my attorney friend choose one to smoke based on looking at, smelling and touching them. I wanted to see which one he would choose if he could only choose one.

He had to pick between Gorilla Glue from Fire Farms, Larry OG and Cherry Cookies from THB. He chose Larry OG out of those three and loved it.

He liked it so much it is all he wanted to smoke and wanted me to buy him some (he’s older and doesn’t trust the internet). Sorry man, they are all sold out.
