Cantaloupe Haze

I ordered the Cantaloupe Haze from TopCola Cultivators, a small batch cannabis company based out of Tennessee known specifically for their Cantaloupe strains. This is my review.

The hype around this flower had set the bar pretty high.

I was expecting top-shelf fire… and top-shelf fire I received.

The Flower

Beautiful, large to medium sized buds as you can see from the photos. Covered from head to toe in trichomes. The buds themselves look nicely cured, hand trimmed and well taken care of.

The bag appeal is strong. These are attractive nugs. The largest of the batch is nearly as tall as lighter.

The bud grinds up nicely in my Santa Cruz shedder and smokes great out of my small water pipe. I have had a bit of a time getting joints to light and burn correctly, but I think that is because my rolling machine is busted and my dollar bill method doesn’t roll as good. It’s a me problem.

Smell

It’s like a creamy soft cantaloupe. Its like the smell of fresh cut cantaloupe mixed with vanilla ice cream. It’s not citrusy like oranges or tangerines or skunky. It smells clean and fresh and pleasant to the nose. It smells like what you would expect a cantaloupe smoothie to smell like from some posh health food juicing store or a fancy drink at a high end restaurant.

It is not super super loud smelling.

It does smell and especially when ground up. It gives off a nice odor but it is not overpowering. This is a plus to me as I believe it means it is keeping most of the terps in the plant instead of expelling them into the air.

Once it is ground up it opens up even more.

Taste

I smoke mostly out of a small water pipe so I fully admit that taste is only on the first green hit for me where I notice a strong flavor. I do want to try some of this strain in my vaporizer once I get it fixed or replaced because this flower tastes good out of the water pipe, I bet it tastes amazing out of the vape.

The first hit out of the bowl gives a very nice taste, similar to but not as strong as the smell. It’s cantaloupish with hints of cream and maybe a bit of berry or floral notes.

The Toke – How Does it Smoke

Fresh hits were nice and clean and smooth. The overall bowl burned at a nice steady rate and the ash was a nice white at the finish.

The first hit is pretty damn heavenly if I do say so myself.

Effect

I like it a lot for a daytime, get stuff done at work smoke.

It’s fast hitting, uplifting and motivating. I feel like doing stuff and if I focus on work, I can get things done creating content or writing reviews.

It’s a very nice buzz with a sativa lean. I am not paranoid or feeling like I had too much, although I do only smoke four to five hits from the water pipe per session during most of the work day.

Final Thoughts

This is my current #1 strain I’ve purchased so far. At the time of me writing this review it it is my current top thca flower I’ve tried.

Yes Cantaloupe Haze is on the order again list.

I already want to order more before they sell out but I need to pace myself.
