LuckyElk offers three tiers of flower, from exotic AAAA tier to top shelf AAA tier and down to the the mid shelf AA tier. Tiers are not the highest to lowest THCa amounts, but the overall grade of the flower. I will get into which grow and what makes each flower graded into each tier, and what you can expect from that tier.

Grades range from the highest tier of AAAA “Exotic” to the “AAA” Top Shelf” to the “AA” which is “Mid Shelf”. From low to high I would think of it as “Good, Better, Best”.
Keep in mind that just because a strain is in the lower tiers does not mean that it has a lower THCa %. You can find some AA flower with very high THCa percentages, usually just as high as what you can find in the AAAA tiers.
Outdoor grown and greenhouse grown flower is generally either in the AA or AAA category.
The indoor grown will either make the AAAA cut or usually AAA. If you want the best money can buy, then shop in the AAAA tier. If you want a good mix of good bud at good prices then shop around their other tiers.
With all that out of the way, I wanted to try all three tiers with my latest order.
Here is what I got.
- Donny Burger – AAAA Exotic
- Sweater Jacketz – AAAA Exotic
- Peanut Butter Apricot – AAAA Exotic
- FlapJacks – AAAA Exotic
- Tropicana Cherry – AAA Top Shelf
- Obama Kush – AA Mid Shelf
I’m going to give a very brief overview of each strain and my thoughts about them overall.
I loved three of the strains, one was a meh. Not surprisingly the ‘meh’ was from the Obama Kush and the other three are excellent.
The Exotic Strains – $40 / 3.5g
Donny Burger, Sweater Jacketz, Flapjacks and Peanut Butter Apricot are the four exotic top tier AAAA rated flower I sampled in my latest orders.

This stuff is not cheap at $40 an eighth.
If you are looking for cheap weed then this is not the tier you should be shopping in.
However if you are looking for the best weed you can buy online that is still not ridiculously priced compared to the overall market then join me at the elk and shop the AAAA tier with me.
Donny Burger – AAAA
I am big fans of the Donny Burger THCa from the good elk if you want to couch lock yourself with a heavy indica. This tasted like a big ole cheeseburger with onions, garlic and pepper. You can peep what I got over on my Donny Burger strain review if you are considering this one (get it).
Sweater Jacketz – AAAA
This one looks totally different than the Donny Burger. It is tight, denser nugs tightly trimmed. It’s sweet and fruity and is a banger. It’s a hybrid with a slight indica lean. It’s a very chill and enjoyable high. Body vibes nicely like you put on your favorite sweater and the good vibrations are underway.
Peanut Butter Apricot – AAAA
This one smells like apricot. I can’t wait to fire it up in my vape now that I’m thinking about it. I have only smoked it in my mini-bubbler. It’s a nice sativa dominant strain that gets me motivated to do some work. Most of the AAAA tier strains at the time of this order are more indica dominant, PBA is a sativa.

By the time I finished this review I have vaped it and it is super flavorful. It is a sativa so it hits for a nice daytime buzz for me. I vaped it in my Dynavap with YLLvape induction heater for a few bowls and was high as a kite. It produced a very nice milky vapor that was full of flavor from the first terp vape hit to the third full vape hit and click. It vapes amazing and the flavors pop out.
Flapjacks – AAAA
Garlicky and onions with a heavy body and behind the eyes feel. It’s indica dominant and is one of the highest rated flowers amongst the community from LE. I like it if you enjoy the garlic terp flavors this one is loaded in it.
AAA Tier – Top Shelf – $30 / eighth
It’s a bit confusing calling the AAA tier ‘top shelf’ when in actuality the AAAA tier is the top shelf and this is the shelf just below them. I suppose from a labeling standpoint you do not want to call this ‘mid’ anything, because it is not and you don’t want to give that impression.
This is probably my most purchased tier at Lucky Elk on the personal side.
It’s fire. It’s really good and the prices are competitive with other top vendors. One of my favorites from this tier was their Larry OG.
I’ve had many many strains from this tier at lucky elk and almost all of them have been really good.
Usually you will find some indoor grown and a few light assisted or greenhouse grown strains in here if they meet the cut.
Tropicana Cherry – AAA Top Tier
*No picture disclosure. The honest answer is that when I first took pictures of the Trop Cherry I tried outside in direct sunlight and the pictures look like total garbage. It’s ugly. I meant to take them again but I consumed the Trop Cherry so fast all I can take a picture of is the vape remains.
Vaping Tropicana Cherry is my favorite flavor to vape. I love the fruity flavors and cherry punch that comes through on the first pull from my Dynavap.
It’s so good and you can really get the flavors via vaping.
It is true that if you just torch this in a joint (my favorite way to toke) then you will get a little flavor but for me personally this flavor smacks the hardest through my vape and I love it. If flavor you are after, this one delivers through the vape.
AA Mid Shelf – $20 / eighth
This is their outdoor and greenhouse grows. You will find strains in this grade selling from around $20-$22 per eighth and around $132 for the ounce. There is usually a strain or two on sale as well that you can get for as low as $16 per eighth or $104 for the ounce.
I’ve tried a few of these and for the most part I have been very happy with this tier.
If you are looking for some “au-natural” grown outdoor or greenhouse flower then you can find some really quality choices in this tier.
Obama Kush – AA Mid Tier
![](https://thcavendors.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/le-obamakush-1-768x1024.jpg)
My most recent purchase of bud in this level is the Obama Kush. It’s got that lemony pine classic weed smell and taste that I love.
It makes a great joint rolling bud for me.
The effects are nice and mixed, with no anxiety and a general feeling of well being. My friends have also enjoyed this one as it goes in the cones when the crew comes around.
At the lowest price I would happily smoke this any day of the week. It’s a nice balanced hybrid that gets you lifted but not absolutely zooted out of your mind. It’s good, chill and relaxing but you feel good.
Which Tier is Best Overall?

Money no object just want the best bud out there then the Exotic AAAA tier is for you for sure. If your concern is getting the absolute best flower then you’ve found a fantastic place to shop.
If you want to get really good but not the most expensive out there then you can shop in the AAA line and find plenty that will suffice.
If you are on mostly budget but still want some organic, quality flower then of course AA tier and or their “smalls” category is where you should be shopping.
Sometimes you can find great deals in their smalls where you can get indoor grown smalls for as low as $30 for a 1/4th and an Oz for only $104. Sure the buds are small but if you are grinding them up to smoke them and they are just as strong (or maybe nearly just as strong) then it’s hard to beat the price for an oz.
